Visvesvaraya Technological University is one of the most popular colleges that is being offered at the city and nearby areas of Bhopal and Bhimavaram in Bidar district. A number of new colleges are being built to meet students’ needs and requirements for higher education in general and technical studies in particular. Apart from having many branches across different regions and cities, these colleges have also been formed as per the government of India.
Location: Bhopal-74 Km radius (approximate distance)
History: The campus was established on July 22, 1924 under this name of V.V.Ganga Vishva Heeltambhava Technical College and was named after Professor Jayakumar Ganga, an engineer. It gained its present status on November 26 1973. It has a history of more than 100 years and has produced several eminent engineers who were active during those times. This school of engineering is considered to be highly progressive and innovative.
Education & Training: To pursue higher education in Engineering field, it offers engineering, design thinking, innovation, technology and research activities and programs to impart engineering knowledge. In addition, some specializations by colleges like Biotechnology, Industrial Design or Aeronautics can make their candidates eligible for admission to these colleges. With each course, students’ exposure to real world opportunities is enhanced. The school has trained the first batch of ten postgraduate candidates and trained 678 posts of associate professionals in various fields of study. These include Computer Sciences, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Technology, Chemical Sciences, Electrical Engines, Digital Media and Software Engineer, Medical Devices & Instrumentation, Food Science/Technology, Consumer Goods Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management and others.
Degrees / Courses: Students can choose their courses according to their interests. They select their subjects on the basis of the degree taken, the course taught and the syllabus of the course. Along with their subjects, they must have passed Class 12th and pass the qualifying examination held in class 10 or equivalent examination. If there are no prerequisites or other eligibility criteria, then all courses offered here will be selected by the student as per his interest and abilities in that subject.

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) was laid out by the Government of Karnataka on 1 April 1998 with its base camp at Belagavi, according to the arrangements of the Visvesvaraya Technological University Act, 1994, an Act to lay out and consolidate a college in the State of Karnataka for the improvement of designing, innovation and united sciences.
